I need to Obtain my Food Safety Manager Certification…What are my options?

Can I register for the CLASSROOM Option at the Door?

NO, Advance registration is required. Important to properly prepare for the training by completing the Practice Exam prior to attending the class. Last minute does not work for this class.


Who needs the Food Safety Manager Certification?

Florida Statutes Chapter 509.039 requires that all managers in a public food service establishment regulated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation receive their CFPM certification. Establishments must have at least one Certified Professional Food Manager, CPFM on premise at all times.


Can I take the Food Managers Exam online?

What about Food Handler Training Certificate for staff?

To comply with the Florida Statutes Section 509.049, your staff must complete an approved food safety training course. Florida Restaurant Association offers FoodHandler Training Guides and Compliance Certificate for each book that is purchased.    SafeStaff.org is the website to purchase FoodHandler Training Guides for your staff.

What is ServSafe®?

ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Conference for Food Protection (CFP). ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification Exam is valid, reliable and legally defensible.  ServSafe® is the credential earned when taking the ChefStart Classroom Option written exam.


What is the passing score?

75% Exam Score is required to obtain your Food Safety Manager Certification. If you do pass on your first attempt. You can attend the classroom training for FREE. ChefStart will charge $75 to retake the certification exam.


Will ChefStart come to my facility to train my staff?

YES, minimum of 15 students are required to set a private class.
